A beauty guru who expanded to bigger and better things.
Nestled in the luxurious beach town of Ormond Beach, Florida, is a fresh salon space that is a dream come true for salon owner Lena Mckernan as she opened the doors of Radiance Color & Hair Studio on December 22, 2023. This was a turning point for her because she was finally expanding into a larger space.
This salon has seven chairs that are operated by talented stylists and beauty gurus. Each person has their own talents, but this salon specializes in lived-in color, blondes, vivid colors, and extensions that keep their clients coming back for more each time. Lena tells us about her mission as a business owner and stylist, and how she is fueled by making others feel good about themselves. “The best thing about my job is empowering individuals by enhancing their appearance and boosting their confidence,” she says.
Lena’s biggest piece of advice for others looking to open a salon…
“When times get tough keep pushing through because the outcome is way better than any obstacle you’ll run into.”
Lena shares what she would do differently if she had the chance to go back in time…
“I would’ve taken in commission stylists. Everyone has to start somewhere!”
